Born in 1971, singer-composer Gudrun Holck entered the music world via her four-year stay in the electrifying Afro-beat atmosphere of Lagos, Nigeria. Her courage and abnegation have given birth to one of the most unusual careers in northern Europe as the Dane explores vocal traditions ranging from Scandinavian kula-singing to pygmy polyphonies from the African rainforests. Holck spent years singing with the Muzi DanZim band before launching her solo career with the album “Muse”.
